Vor knapp zweihundert Jahren war Bath das, was heute die in Beton gegossenen Orte rund um das Mittelmeer waren - der Urlaubsort schlechthin.

Damals wie heute reiste man, um Erholung zu finden und dem Alltag zu entfliehen, aber auch um zu flirten, zu tanzen und Spaß zu haben.
Pride and Prejudice - Bath

Clovelly ist so schön und idyllisch, dass es ständig von Touristen überlaufen wird. Eine steile Stichstraße, gesäumt von blumenbewachsenen Cottages, führt zu dem alten Hafen aus dem 14. Jahrhundert, in dem Kanonen von Schiffen der Spanischen Armada als Poller dienen. Die Straße ist so steil, dass noch heute einzig Esel und Schlitten als Transportmittel verwendet werden.
"Westward Ho!" - Clovelly

Clovelly is so beautiful and idyllic that it is permanently overrun by the tourists. A steep narrow road, lined by flower covered cottages, leads to the old 14th century port where cannons from the ships of the Spanish Armada are still used as bollards. The street is so steep that even today only donkeys and sleighs are used as transport.

Angeblich behauptet ein bekanntes mathematisches Problem, dass die Küstenlinie Englands unendlich lang sei: bei zunehmender Detaillierung des Betrachtungsmaßstabes wird die Küstenlinie zwangsläufig länger, da immer kleinere Ein- und Ausbuchtungen berücksichtigt werden. Wiederholt man diese Detaillierung unendlich oft, folgt daraus, dass auch die Küstenlinie unendlich lang sein müsse.
Infinite End - Lands End

It is said that a famous mathematical problem claims that the English coast line is infinitely long. If the scale is detailed the coast line inevitable gets longer because smaller indentations must be regarded. If this detailing is repeated infinitely the coast line must be infinitely long.
